Review on πŸ‘– Libin Women's Hiking Pants: Fleece Lined Snow Ski Pants for Winter Warmth and Water Resistance by Nick Moody

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worthy - could fit and work better.

I bought these pants to work on a cold horse farm in New England. In very cold weather - and in horse mud. WARM: 4/5 stars: (at 25 degrees I was quite warm with no other layers on my legs - I could feel a slight chill after about an hour outside - but was able to work comfortably in them for 3 hours). Windproof: 4/5 stars (in semi-constant winds around 9-13mph - for 3 hours - they worked well - really need to secure them down with the built in elastic cords - a bit annoying). FIT: 3.5/5 stars: I have an hourglass figure. Big hips, buttocks, hips and a thin waist. Overall: They gave enough room in the waist - needed more room in the back (the seams increase the front and a flatter back). Good hip space - a little tight in the hips but still able to move freely. The length is just right for my short legs. The drawstring was the main focus with them as I was expecting such a complete fit. However, the thin lace, similar to shoelaces, is not enough to fix the waist - uncomfortable. The tip should be much wider, less slippery material to stay knotted, or some other way to attach it. It shouldn't be so tight and shouldn't look like a bag tied with string! Because it needs to be tied to stay in place, it's so difficult to untie. The bungee cords on the ankles are ok but leave marks on the legs/ankles - a bit harsh on the skin but functionally effective. It's not too bad over socks or boots, but it still feels too tight when you have to pull it up to stay "windproof". Bungee locks remain. Material: 4/5 stars: functional and still soft - mostly comfortable. No itch! Thank God. It also has a slight "concession" so movement is not restricted in any way. I can bend, turn, run and feel warm and comfortable while I work. A big minus - uncomfortable, too thin drawstring at the waist. I also tried a pair of lightweight leggings underneath (for future temperature extremes if needed) and still felt comfortable out and about. It's a little comfortable, but not onerous. Overall Function: 4/5 stars Wouldn't call this a 'waterproof' material but the outer shell keeps the horse troughs from getting wet. Splashing here/there and stomping in mud/dung won't get me in these pants. The material dries quickly! And very easy to clean! I wash cold and air dry (it says you can tumble dry low). No problems with material wear or shrinkage. Overall impression: 4/5 stars: These pants are the only ones I've really found: keeps you warm, fits well, stays dry and doesn't irritate the skin (lining). The length is perfect for me. I recommend them for work or play in cold weather, windy and/or rainy days. At least up to 25 degrees and up to 15 km/h wind. We'll see how that changes as the temperature drops to 0 - and the wind blows - and snow covers the ground for the season.
