I used this to drain my 250 gallon hot tub. One time. The next time I tried to use it - 6 months later - it shorted. I can tell the motor works because it will turn on for about a 15-30 seconds then it flips the circuit breaker.Clearly there is a broken or loose wire. So it seems the durability/ quality is subpar if it doesn't last for a second use.My hot tub manufacturer recommends draining the tub twice a year. So now of course it's outside the return window because I only need a pump every 6 months. I shouldn't have to buy a new pump every 6 months.
