This was exactly what I was looking for. I changed cheap plastic seats. You have a good strong feeling. Installation couldn't be easier. The hardest part is removing the old toilet seat. All you have to do is screw a couple of small threaded rods into the fixed part of the hinges and attach a plastic spacer to each. You place the seat through the toilet with threaded rods. Now just use a 1/2" wrench (socket is better) or socket on the nuts to tighten the seat. Here's the genius part. The nuts are extended and the area that fits your wrench is actually segmented and will break when the correct torque is achieved! This way you don't have to worry about the very common problem of over-tightened bolts, which can lead to damage or premature failure. FYI, the rest of the nut that stays with the toilet still requires a 1/2 wrench for easier removal in the future.
