I saw them in action on another bike and went to look. When they arrived in my vanity I thought they would affect the smoothness of my bike. Security considerations won out. Installation was easy - 5 minutes max. Once installed, it's time to experiment with tilting each mirror depending on your preferred riding position, and this will take some experimentation to find a good middle ground. Luckily, the mirrors are convex, which increases the field of view. After many rides I like them a lot more as a helmet mirror (which can cause eye contact in a fall) and more than other handlebar mirrors I've had. They don't make things as sharp and easy to see as side mirrors in a car, but they definitely help the driver with situational awareness without resorting to physical rotation to look back. One caveat: when the rider changes the angle of attack significantly (e.g. moving out of the saddle to attack), the mirrors no longer block the field of view to show what the rider sees while seated.
