This is an honest review from someone who bought this product. The display of my Samsung fridge went crazy after ten years, then the fridge stopped cooling. This fridge had ice issues and was very disappointing overall so I replaced it with an LG (I won't be buying Samsung again as I've given up their TVs). We got the LG from the Sears hardware store and when it arrived there was no water filter. I'm cheap and always looking for a good deal so I was able to convince my spouse that this AQUACREST aftermarket filter has good reviews and is worth trying. I use Soda Stream to carbonate water with no flavor, just water. My family only drinks water (no soda or juice). I know we're boring, but still. We are picky and can say what tastes right. We also live in a city with a high water rating. THE WATER FROM THESE FILTERS TASTES LIKE OUR TAP WATER. Tap water tastes like chlorine, and filtered water does. After giving in to my wife, I bought a branded LG filter at a local hardware store. It's 100% better. There is no comparison. No one! The difference was instant. As important as water is to our well-being, I think it's worth $50. If the secondary filter doesn't eliminate the chlorine taste, what else is it missing? I spent $30, I hope you don't. Also, I didn't give 1 star because the air filters were included. Who knows if they will work or not, but they are only meant to reduce the smell.
