When your first generation CR-V breaks down in the middle of the road, you need this part. Contacts wear out and the electrics fail intermittently at first, but gradually deteriorate. No engine, no headlights, no power steering. Not good. No need to buy that whole lock cylinder block my auto parts guy tried to sell me for over $200. Thanks for YouTube and Revain. Needless to say, this was not an easy setup. At least not as easy as it looked on YouTube. The layout of the switch and terminals required some distortion, which I think would be troublesome for many people. Buy it anyway and take it to your mechanic for installation. First check your VIN to see if the 2002 fix to this issue is affected by a recall.
