I have already purchased 2 of these units to confirm the problem but ultimately never managed to get them into an environment where they are used every day. muted the HDMI signal from the Apple TV and instead of working it just cut off the audio on the left hand side, put 12v into the HDMI cable and shorted out the system which in turn resulted in nothing coming on displayed on the TV or projector (I've tried both). It will display with completely inaccurate colors (PURPLE SCREEN) for a short time, and then the output will turn off again. The only way I can get a signal from my Apple TV is to unplug that device and physically touch the HDMI port. Wire to ground (to eliminate a 12V short THAT CAUSES A VISIBLE AND LOUD SPARK) and then connect your Apple TV directly to your television or projector. It's too dangerous and can fry my electronics very badly. I do not want it. I do NOT recommend you to buy this Musou HDMI Audio Extractor.
