Doesn't quite fit as long as there are no problems?

My biggest concern is that the base filter will not fit exactly. You have to push it in somehow, and even then it's not quite flush. I often get the error message "Dust box is missing" even when it's not missing. Otherwise the filtering seems good or equivalent. Cylindrical foam filters do not have the same height but are narrower than other non-OEM products. Shark has been out of stock for a long time, so I can no longer buy the OEM version. My photos are compared to the original filter that the vacuum cleaner came with. In addition, the small round disc filter is denser and stronger than the OEM filter and slightly larger in diameter. It doesn't seem to affect usage, but I'm wondering if the limited airflow puts a strain on the vacuum motor when emptying the robot's trash can on its own. It could also be that my old filter was washed and shot through too many times. It will be a few weeks before I can see how they hold up to washing and drying. I read them weekly. Seeing how dirty they are after 1 week I can't imagine cleaning them monthly or longer. Considering the price, buying these through OEM will save you money as even on the Shark website it's difficult to find accessories that fit the RV1002AE exactly! (The base engine filters aren't even listed), but a pre-engine filter is $10 each on the OEM model. I guess the question is, will saving on accessories make a difference for the life of my $400 robot vacuum? Will slightly different accessories have any negative consequences? ONLY TIME WILL TELL
