Wrong description. When fully closed, the actual space remaining is approximately 5/8" and the case diameter is approximately 2". I would say they are undersized for work cords and oversized for light indoor cords. I found that the laces need to be pushed down a bit to stay in place. The small size must be closed almost to zero. I had some old orange clips, I think they were medium sized. Medium is ideal for most 14ga and 12ga cable lengths. Return these.
