The description of this product does not accurately describe what you will receive. In fact, this is a complete fallacy. I've included some photos that will give you a much better idea of the dimensions and actual construction. Why the supplier cannot provide such photos along with accurate sizing information I cannot imagine. Ordering something that doesn't match what is advertised is a waste of time and resources. The "hose" is extremely stiff. It is durable because it is not a flexible spiral hose. In fact, it is a non-ferrous metal. This hard line is the vacuum line. This is not a protective coating on the 5/32 inch diameter inner plastic vacuum line. However, you can easily plug in a 5/32" hard plastic vacuum line (Dorman 47418). hose and provides an internal port that allows true 5/32" OD vacuum line to enter and exit with virtually no friction.
