I've only had mixed experiences with water-cooled systems, but this was an order of magnitude simpler. No, the tanks have to be filled or emptied and take up much less space in the card frame. I bought a case specifically designed for the water cooler (Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case - Black) which made the installation much easier. Problem: I have chosen an i9 processor which requires LGA2066 socket support. The documentation that came with the cooler is thin and doesn't really cover how to install it with this socket. It's really quite simple - you don't need a base plate - just go for shorter stands (as recommended for Intel processors) and you'll be fine. Connect the pump to the CPU1 fan power connector and the USB connector to the onboard USB port. I've only had it for a few hours and so far it's working perfectly. I will post updates once I have some experience with the cooler.
