Review on πŸ” Enhanced Lid Support: SafeStay Lid Stay 105Β° Open with Soft Close, Simple Installation for Toy Boxes and Chests by Billy Berry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good installation design and operation!

I first tried the hardware store universal lid opener, which had problems: (1) the lid would not open fully; (2) the assistant pulled the top so that it hit the side panel when it was closed; (3) the tension was too tight or the lid wasn't heavy enough to allow it to stay open about 1 inch; and (4) the setup was a teddy bear that had to be made with a 62 degree lid (or something like that). I replaced that first aid with this SafeStay Lid Rack and am very impressed. The movement is very smooth, the lid opens a full 90 degrees (would open more but I have a wall behind the built in wall), thanks to the design the installation is very easy, the lid closes completely there is no torque. Lid. There is a minimum and maximum weight rating based on the height of the lid and I have included the chart that came with the rack as an image. For easy installation, be sure to follow the markings on the insert. For example, with a standard sliding hinge, place the first mounting bracket (middle) on the cover 118mm from the bottom and 11mm from the edge, and the mounting bracket inside with the top left bracket 72mm behind and 34mm from the edge. vertex. If you do this, it works fine. The design holds the lid open until you press it down and slowly descends. I have also attached a picture with dimensions. The device also has a really good screw adjustment mechanism after installation to get the right arm length. In the attached video I only used one hand and my lid was 3/4" thick plywood and about 18" wide by 32" long.
