My son loves them and they are very warm and cute BUT the buckle is only decorative and if it said so in the description I missed it (or I forgot because I looked at sooo many options before buying). This is particularly inconvenient as the boots are a bit too big for him at the moment and we couldn't tighten them around his ankles as expected. So the snow got in and up to the fingertips. Luckily now is the end of the snow season and in the fall he will get a new snow suit that will solve this problem in the next season.
