Initial Review April 27, 2021 There are only two things that make one of these SSDs better than others: 1) read/write speeds 2) durability (which we don't know until it fails) So the only thing worth testing is the Speed if it works otherwise. I use CrystalDiskMark to rate the speed of SD cards, HDDs and SSDs. So I ran CrystalDiskMark (CDM) on that drive. It was the very first thing I did. I noticed that there are no marketing specs on the box that state the speed of this SSD. The good news is that it's not bad. CDM shows a reading speed of 443 MB/s and a writing speed of 147 MB/s. I have much faster SSDs, but there are also much slower SSDs out there. I wouldn't be tempted to use this drive as some sort of primary storage, but it's fine for backups or copying to another computer. There is a blue LED on the case that indicates data transfer. I tried to remove the unwanted plastic border. piece, but it doesn't come off easily. I didn't want to break it for fear the whole disk would fall apart. The price is no different from other similar hard drives. I recommend this disc.
