I thought you could change the light intensity with the remote control, but that is changed with the light button on the ring. The tripod cannot stand alone unless the bottom three legs are fully extended. Those were the main issues with this tripod, but for the price it's ok. Hope that helps. The box also arrived very damaged and open.
