There is water, there will be a pump!

We are modifying our 1600 gallon pool. The Lanchez Q9003 3/4 HP submersible pump looked good to help us get the job done. It was high priced and good value, which is why we bought it. It arrived quickly and we got to work right away. I liked the serrated clamp they provided to attach the hose to the pump. A trip to the hardware store was avoided. When everything was set up and ready the pump started working straight away and you could actually see the water going down. I grossly underestimated how fast the pump will remove all the water. There was very little water left in the pool, which could be removed very quickly with a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. This was my first pump and it worked better than we expected. It made very hard work easy. Plugged in and no water. This is one of the best things we've bought in a long time. Draining and cleaning the pool is a whole new project. We will never play three hundred bucks to see how someone from the pool shop will do it for us.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
