I added this alegent to my Emotion Spitfire 9 kayak and the tracking changed day and night. The kayak used to be very difficult to keep on course and would go 180 degrees as soon as I stopped paddling which just took the fun out of it. Now it moves straight and works much more efficiently and is more fun. The downside is that it can get stuck in shallow water or collect algae, but common sense should not be used. When you know you are in shallow water, the skeg can be removed. I used six marine rivets and marine grade sealant/glue for the installation.
