This is a preview. I set it up today and wanted to share its setup and basic operation. The first thing to know about this case is that it's not really connected or working. You must mount the discs with screws (included) and the outer panel requires another set of screws. While you can swap hard drives easily, it takes time. If you need to swap drives quickly on a regular basis, this isn't for you. Second, I found the disk configuration instructions confusing. There are two switches and a reset button that you use to set up the drive, and the instructions seem backwards to how the drive worked for me. For "normal" operation, the instructions say that both switches must be in the down position, but I've found that both switches must be in the up position. This can cause a problem when you expect "normal" operation, you set the switches according to the diagram and then insert two existing drives, only to find you want to reformat when you connect the drive to your computer moves. Third, to set up the case, you need to install the hard drives and then connect the case to a power source or your computer without an external case. None of this is particularly intuitive. Once set up, the drive seems to get enough power from a self-powered USB 3 port that it doesn't need external power, at least if you have SSDs installed.
