Review on Mythic Renaissance Medieval Irish Costume Over Dress & Chemise Set (XXS/XS, Black) by Deandre Kamaludin

Pretty, but too long

I am 5'5" and 105 lbs. and I bought this in size S/M according to the chart/reviews. Even with the ties, it is still very, very roomy on me, and it is also very long (which other reviewers noted, so I was prepared for that). I'm pretty lanky, so it didn't surprise me that the elastic in the arms is too wide, the ties on the front/back/sleeves don't tie tight enough to fit me how it's "supposed to fit", etc. That said, it's a very pretty dress. I thought I was ordering something of a medium sky blue color, but it's actually a deep, rich teal, which I'm very happy with (even if I wasn't expecting the color to look like this). The detail on the front is beautiful. The chemise is thin, so I won't be wearing anything dark colored/patterned underneath it, but it's light and breezy. I like that you can wear the neckline high, or off the shoulders. To make the skirt not quite as long (impossible for me to walk in without stepping all over it!), I sort of bunch it up in the back and wear a belt so that it so that it just brushes my feet - the over dress is still too long, but when I walk it flows like a cape, so I don't worry about tripping on it. :)It's still not as fitted and nice looking as I hoped it would be on me, but it's sufficient for what I want it for (short notice costume for a day at the renaissance faire). With a flower crown and some finagling, it is just fine and I feel pretty in it. Just wish it came in XS!
