Overall I am satisfied with the performance of the Waveshare 7" IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1024x600. It works well as an interface for Octoprint such as OctoScreen. Backlight switch, it's not easily accessible when mounted in the case. However, there is a simple mod that allows you to turn the backlight on and off via the GPIO - if you're prone to easy soldering, or even pair a motion sensor around the turning on the backlight when needed it would be wiser to integrate a pull-out pen for more convenient backlight control, but for the price and the functionality everything is fine so far.
