I received my package just a few hours ago and I couldn't wait to wear this protector. I have a 2017 15" MBP and the trackpad protector fits perfectly. No need to trim the edges or anything. My only advice is to be very careful and precise when applying the protector to the trackpad and not leave any lint. I started very much careful and slow until i got to the very end smoothed it out it wasn't lined up at the end of the corner nothing serious though you can see it's a bit off in my photos i uploaded aside from that think I that for now it's a great trackpad protector and very easy to use!I also like that it's 2 pack so I have a backup.
