They weren't cheap compared to what I normally spend but wow I love these sheets. I've only had cotton before, but I love them a lot more. I have a purple mattress and finally decided to buy some nice sheets to complete the bed. It's been over a year since I've only used the purple mattress pad, which was more comfortable than cotton sheets, but the mattress pad got dirty and went off white. I did a lot of research and it was between these and purple sheets. The price is about the same (purple was a little more than $), I rolled the dice and picked them and I have no regrets. I don't know what purple feels like but they stretch well and allow you to get the most out of your purple mattress, the difference between day and night with them and cotton sheets laid over a purple mattress. The cotton is stiff and really belies the benefits of such a quality mattress. In contrast, the sheets really shine! I live in Arizona. It's getting hot and I'm warming up. There is sort of a cooling factor to these sheets, I would agree that they dissipate heat. These are probably the softest sheets I've ever had. The only potential downside is that they remain quite crumpled. I don't care, but some can. Anyway, I really couldn't ask for anything better. especially with my purple mattress or any mattress for that matter
