Review on πŸ–‹οΈ Peachtree Woodworking Supply Pen Blank Centering Vise: Perfect Tool for Precise Pen Blank Drilling with a Drill Press by James Roper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

At first glance it LOOKS impossible -

BUT it works so well it must be a miracle. Will miracles never stop? I make sticks to order. The topper is attached to one end of the shaft. To screw on the head, a centered guide hole for the screw must be drilled at the upper end of the shaft. it MUST be centered or it will look like cheap amateur work. and you lose money on the cheap side. THAT solves this problem. Unfortunately I have to drill a pilot hole in its base to drill a larger hole to let the stick shaft in - the bottom channel would make this easier by being 3/4" wider. Once the 1/8" pilot hole was drilled , I drilled a 1 1/4" hole for the shaft. The drill can now drill coaxial holes to screw in the topper. NOW it looks professional! Take 2-4 bolts and 2-4 wing nuts to the vise fasten, center it under the chuck with a 1/4" bit, then tighten and you can't go wrong.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • I don't remember
