Tames my coarse beard very effectively. At first I hesitated; I thought I might burn myself (well, I've never tried straighteners) but this one is perfect. It is made of anti-burn materials to avoid burning the skin. My beard has never been so manageable, soft and straight. I've also seen my wife use this on her hair. Good product!
