I often needed a snake and didn't take it anymore. This drainage auger is inexpensive and works great. I tested it and found it easy to use and simple to set up. The snake is manually pulled to the desired length and fixed with an adjusting screw. The snake rotates easily with the help of the handle. Before the device is placed back in the holder, it must be flushed completely. I use an outdoor hose or a sink. This is a simple tool and as long as it doesn't snap off the handle inside the holder it should last a long time.
