Review on πŸƒ Enhanced Performance: Amphipod Hydraform Handheld Thermal Lite 12oz - Unleashing Insulation & Mobility by Vincent Poolaw

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great idea with some serious flaws

The Amphipod Flask is one of the handiest handheld devices I *ever* used. It's easy to disassemble and clean, and the valve is soft enough to open with your teeth while staying securely closed when needed. You can put keys or some gels in the case. However, as other reviews have mentioned, the lid can be uncomfortable and you will need grip strength to tighten the lid to avoid leaking. I also think that the band that wraps around the bottom of the bottle doesn't fit the bottle very well and the neoprene sleeve tends to slip a bit - sometimes this pushes the band off the bottom of the bottle in the middle. run. And the flat plastic ring that connects the handle to the neck of the bottle is flimsy. The stress from the fall (which will inevitably occur on the trail and in this case on a soft surface) caused this part to stretch and shear. Since the plastic ring is held in place by a sewn-on nylon loop, there's no fix for this other than replacing the entire strap, which costs $15 total. It's a good ergonomic bottle but anticipating other issues in the future I'll stick with the Nathan and Ultimate Direction bottles.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Damaged
