Review on ☕ AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker with Tote Bag - Rapidly Brews Smooth and Flavorful Coffee - Ideal for Brewing 1 to 3 Cups Per Press by Melissa Merkel

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I don't understand the high ratings: I just want to make coffee, not do morning exercises.

I believed all the amazing reviews and thought I would get an easy to use, inexpensive device to make great espresso. I can almost excuse the 5 or 6 pieces of plastic that make up this unit (most of which need to be cleaned AFTER each use). It is certainly NOT sustainable to waste gallons of water washing every day. My real problem is that it is REALLY HARD / PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to use the device. After adding the coffee and filling the tube with water, GOOD LUCK for pushing the water through. And I'm a big guy. Granted, not the strongest guy, but probably average. The first attempt was ridiculous. I only had enough for one cup. It took me a few MINUTES of hard work to push myself through the water. Tried 3 cups at a time and forgot! Barely removed from the cup and mostly under the influence of natural gravity. I just want to make coffee, not exercise in the morning. I've researched the internet, I'm not the only one with this problem. Some people have claimed that the problem was the coffee grinder itself. this. it is more difficult to force water through very finely ground espresso. I use Trader Joe's Espresso, which is a fairly common product in many markets. So it wasn't tested with him? Do I need to find an espresso that will work with this? All of that + the kit aspect of the model (and the cleanup that came with it) = I'm bringing it back. If it works for you, I'm happy. I tried. Small update: I tried this with ground coffee without espresso and it worked better ie. H. It's not impossible to push the water through, but have I lost at least 1/2 of the water? Not enough water could be squeezed out. In any case, between this issue, another original issue, and the kit aspect of everything, I know I'm not who this device was designed for. I want good, fast and easy. Instead, I ordered an Essenza Mini Nespresso. We'll see, but I'm confident.

Pros
  • Brews 1 to 3 cups of American coffee with one touch in about a minute. Unlike a French Press, it can also brew cold coffee or espresso for use in lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso-based drinks.
Cons
  • I don't remember
