I bought an Ivation propane lighter about a year ago in 2020. I don't use it much. Was my old detonator a Benz? and it went like this for about 30 years. (I like to use short/thick propane tanks because they don't tip over easily.) The Ivation has been working well for almost a year and I've never had a problem with a tank leak. But the spark/igniter started to get stuck and eventually stopped working. The trigger still felt right. It resisted finger pressure and still clicked/clicked. Well, it turned out there was a spark, but the arc was too short. Unscrew the gold tip from the tube; it is only hand tight. Look for the black wire. Pull the trigger and look for a spark jumping off the end of the black wire. (The darker the room, the better the view.) Bend the black wire toward the center of the silver connector and away from the wall of the tube. The picture shows mine after I fixed it. great spark. Hand-tighten the tip again. Jumps every time!
