Great modern clean crisp well designed display as far as I know anything can be great. but it just sits at 400 indoors and out unless you blow on it or get it close enough to an open fire or something. Then, with a light breath, I jump to about 1200. I'm a programmer and have created interface designs with various tools over the years, and I suspect that some complex averaging and "smoothing" is going on. Inside. On the one hand you don't want to splurge on the high and low readings you can get from the sensor, ON THE OTHER HAND, and that's my problem with this gauge, you really don't want that thing to sit there and read 400 exactly for a whole day without the slightest change IMHO. An accuracy of up to 50ppm CAN mean there is no change unless more than 425 or less than 375 are averaged for such and such a number of readings. Good for the Green House. Good for an alarm clock. But for the classroom I guess that the opening sensitivity even up to +-5 at least reflects that the instrument is alive, good and working. In my case, I wanted to give this instrument to a primary school. My readings show that a class of about 20 children increases the readings over time, even with "normal” blood flow. That doesn't happen, the tool is at 400 like it's broken. I explained that I suspect how it averages, but the teachers in charge are not impressed, I think they would like to know that the number 400 is not drawn. Blackboard. and i can understand.
