The meat chopper head is oxidized/blackened from use in the dishwasher.
The machine itself is very good, I made steak tartare with a meat grinder. I have put all the mill head parts in the dishwasher and when washed; There was black wax on ALL parts, they appear to be oxidized. Then I had to wash them again and towel dry them to remove the black wax from them. After that I hand washed every time I used the meat grinder. I have also baked and the machine does a very good job of making dough.
