Very nice and colorful refraction when the sun is shining at the end of the day. Window films allow rooms to be experienced and offer a personal interior space by allowing as much light as possible into the rooms. A good economical solution to avoid blinds and dark rooms. The facade of my house is close to the street and the neighbors can see me from across the street, as can passers-by. Which isn't ideal. Watching outside at night how well the window film blocks the view, I've noticed that when the lamp at the back of the room from the window is the only light source, the human figures in the room are silhouettes and can be seen as such . . However, only in a room with floor-to-ceiling windows. The other room's windows are only from the upper torso to the skylights and this causes this room's appearance line to be less open to the room and to the outside world. Thus, the film does not block completely and is not as closed as with large panorama windows. I had the curtains closed after dark to provide privacy in this room. During the day at work, I don't like to look up or make eye contact with passers-by as they walk by and look out the windows of my home. And I'm glad I don't have curtains or blinds that darken the rooms and sacrifice the enjoyment of daylight in my home. When installing, please note that this is a general DIY project. You will also need to order a window scraper/spray kit to squeeze all of the window cleaner between the glass and film. I've found that a good window cleaning spray works just as well as the kit spray, but the little scraper that comes with the kit is perfect for applying window film in both large and small windows. Other tools needed are a larger, good quality self-healing cutting mat, along with a sharp cutting tool and Exaco blades, a long metal-edged ruler, and a tape measure for measuring windows. I was also able to make some final cuts on the window itself. But these cuts will dull the blade and ruin it for reuse. So fresh blades are a must. You'll ruin the window film if you cut with dull blades. I found that I had to switch to a new drive to cut the film for each window to avoid errors due to a dull drive. Give yourself enough time for each window you cover with foil. The more soap spray window film you use, the easier it will be to match and apply the film to the window. A squeegee to remove air and water bubbles and highly absorbent cloths easily absorb excess material.
