Review on πŸ› οΈ PSI Woodworking LCENTSS22: Versatile No. 2 MT Crown Super Wood Lathe Drive Center – A Must-Have Tool for Precision Turning by Isaac Cahill

Revainrating 4 out of 5

5/8 " and 1 " PSI drive centers - both work well - no complaints

Bought both 5/8" (new) and 1" (used stock Revain). Both sizes worked well. From the reviews, the first thing I did was to check if the midpoint would retract/shrink. Both are perfectly compressed - the spring is strong. The 1" was a bit stiff (maybe that's why someone brought it back) - squeezed it a few times and it went in and out with no problem. The set screws on both were tight (I'll check for looseness and use blue Loctite if needed) .Used a small piece of black walnut the size of a 3/4 square pen blank - held up well and when finished there were small indentations where the teeth stuck. Used the 1" on a 3" wedge (with bark) and the 1" held up well too. The first impression is that I am satisfied with both. Put the part on, tighten the quill – the center point retracts and the teeth bite. Much easier than using a standard 4 tooth spur gear drive.
