Before I bought this juicer I read many reviews about this juicer as well as many other makes and types. This device had very devoted fans and its price ($14.29) was one of the cheapest. I very rarely buy a cheap device, but this little device got so many good reviews that I gave it a try. The juicer was delivered on 01/19/2017 and I am reviewing it on 03/31/2017. I had it for 70 days and 17 of them were missing. I used this juicer to squeeze grapefruit almost every day for the remaining 53 days. Oranges have been used on rare occasions, but mostly grapefruits. My first experience was great, the little engine word is beautiful, and for January and February it was "The Little Engine That Could". LIKE we puffed in March, after about a week I think the shaft started slipping. The shaft and its mount are hexagonal and made of plastic. The plastic wears out on both the shank and its seat, allowing the shank to rotate without the reamer head constantly moving. Now that I've unplugged the machine, I have an easier and more efficient way to squeeze my morning grapefruit juice. This little machine owes me nothing for less than $15. It did a great job and if you're just squeezing citrus every now and then it's a very good buy. Worth the price. You get what you pay for, however, and if you need a juicer for everyday use and for tougher citrus than oranges, your best bet is to look for a machine with a steel shaft and receiver. Something made from much more durable materials that you pay a lot more money for. It's a great little machine for the price, but it won't hold up to prolonged daily use. If you only squeeze oranges for special occasions, this is for you.
