I bought this shield to replace an old, cracked hard acrylic shield that broke. I've used these for years and was able to purchase at a local beauty supply until recently. So the hunt started for a new one. Ordering online is always a gamble for me since I like to see and touch items before purchase. I can say I'm pleasantly surprised with this one. It arrived in a bubble envelope and I thought "oh, no. It's going to be broken like the reviews said" What I got was a product that arrived intact and undamaged. The shield is larger than my old one, which means I don't have to shift side to side while using hair spray. It is also somewhat flexible, which is why it didn't break in spite of the packaging. I can see this one lasting much longer previous ones, but we shall see.
