I picked this up on a whim after the last heatwave as I was looking for something to de-clutter my small home office. He's perfect for that! Takes up little space on my desk and doesn't make much noise on the lowest settings (that's all I've needed so far) - the fan even adds a nice white noise that helps me focus. It's a little louder when you crank it up to full power, but it's no different than any other fan or AC unit. I don't think I would take it with me for camping or camping - it's far too bulky and heavy for that - but it will definitely accompany me on trips. A few things to keep in mind when considering a purchase: 1. It shows up as having a low battery and doesn't seem to be drawing enough power from the included USB cable to work immediately/while charging. Be sure to charge it before you need it for the first time! 2. The included USB cable does not come with a wall outlet adapter. We have add-ons so that wasn't a problem for me, but keep that in mind if you don't already have something to hook it up to.3. When turning on the swing (particularly 120*) make sure the cable has enough slack to accommodate the rotation. I made this mistake first and ended up spilling some water on my desk as it reached its full extension and leaned forward sharply. This won't fill the entire room with cool air, but it will provide reliable relief for small spaces and anyone directly in front (within 6 feet or so).
