As a jewelry designer, I rely on microscopes of this type to show me imperfections or tiny areas where I'm working on a piece of jewelry . I bought a previous model of this microscope that was less than one megapixel and I really liked it, but this one far exceeds expectations for such a small price. There is a small sagenite cabochon in my photos and as you can see the camera on this little device does an excellent job of capturing the needle-like gold rutile spray in the cabin. The second photo is what I liked. This is a closeup of a Mexican Cathedral Agate at 40x magnification. The only downside I currently see, and which you can find in the added video, is the light grid, which you can only get rid of by rotating your piece in side view. I'll have to play around with this device a bit more to see if I can leave the part flat to remove the light matrix. Otherwise, the videos and photos are amazing, and the on-screen playback allows me to see what I'm working on very clearly. I love it. totally worth the money spent. A must-have item for the stingy jeweler.
