Easy to assemble but the instructions are microscopic and not very good. However, the house is amazing and was assembled fairly quickly. It has a really strong smell, I thought it smelled like cedar so I read the packaging and it says it's made of pine so I think it smells like pine. but he is very strong. I think it will repel almost any living creature that comes inside. Except for the creepy brown spider that hid in the box and kept reappearing while I was putting it together. He belongs to the house I think, I hope he's not a brown recluse. I keep trying to find it, but it disappears into gaps between wooden planks that don't even look like gaps. The interior of the cat house and the shelves are a little small if you have big cats. 2 of my 3 cats are quite large. I don't know if they go there or not, we'll see. When they are there, there isn't much room for them and they don't seem very keen to go inside. but it sure is cute! Originally I wanted to buy 3 for my 3 cats, there are some apartments where everyone can have their own! But the price has gone up, so I'll stick with what I have for now. Unless the price drops again!
