At first I doubted whether this hat would fit. I bought one first to try, it was a bit big for my year and a half but I was able to adjust the size to fit comfortably. My son is 3 now and will be 4 this July and the hat still fits and stays in place. We spend most of the summer at the beach. Traveled to Cancun and went camping and with my child's sensitive skin this hat protected his face from sunburn while wearing it. I like that the back can be detached which is what we do when he swims in the pool. This is definitely a great purchase. So much so that I bought another one.
