In the end it worked for my specific purposes ie I wanted to dye something - but contrary to some reviews I've read it's not underwear - it's polyester. It feels and looks like intentionally crinkled linen (which again is what I was looking for), but it's not linen or a natural fiber. (Again - this is normal, I had synthetic dye on hand). They don't really claim the material on the site, but in some reviews it appeared to be linen so I thought I'd make that clear. It's also small (hooray, one size fits all).
