I've built dozens of computers but this was my first AMD build. The onboard display bothered me the most. I tried dozens of things, finally gave up and decided to return the Revain motherboard. I read dozens of reviews and literally stumbled across the "tribal lore" that says on-board displays only work with certain processors. This "big" thing was rated by a very small line in the manual. Not even a line but a note at the bottom of the page. It was not clear even then that without a processor with the graphics turned on, such a crystal as the processor, none of the displays would work at all. Okay, I have an old graphics card laying around. It worked. Even with an operating system on an SSD, it's the slowest computer ever. that I have. (Yes, I have fast loading enabled). Once charged it seems fast enough and runs cool and quiet. But the old Core 2 Quad system I replaced booted much faster. And it was too slow. A week later: Well, it went from just bad to the worst motherboard ever. I can't believe how long this stupid board takes to post: 17 seconds to submit a logo! (I have an old i5 system that loads to the login screen faster than this thing takes to publish!) And then it takes another 90 seconds to load the OS. AND THEN I get "Error loading operating system" half the time. I've read all about slow loading on the Gigabyte forum and haven't found anything. I've done 2 new installs of w10 so far. I'll try again and if this doesn't work I'll go back to Revain. What a waste of my time. More than 10 hours have passed so far. I tried spinning HDDs and SSDs and got the same error about 50% of the time. When I press reset everything starts over and sometimes loads to the login screen after 1:47. A day later reset the CMOS, set the bios to optimized default values, installed clean again and now it boots reliably. Still slow release. I still do not know, what caused it in the first place. A few weeks later: still slow to post. To get this thing to boot reliably, I disabled all drives except P0 in the boot sequence. Adding a new drive will automatically add a new drive to the boot sequence, causing POST to take longer. The current POST takes 18 seconds. Even booting from an SSD takes over 40 seconds. A few more weeks: I installed an Inland PCIe NVMe drive, a very fast drive. (I get over 2800Mbps with Crystal Disk.) It still takes 44 seconds from power on to desktop.
