That the base is stationary (not moving) and the remote control is how you change colors.
I like that it changes color and has three different parts that attach to the base. My friend who is an avid Star Wars fan. Thought it would be a great birthday gift! The thickness of the piece is slightly thinner than expected. Problems with the remote control, it's spratic. And there is NOTHING 3D in the light.
