Review on Hopkins 47297 INSIGHT Simplified Brake Control Plug-in by Lee Wilson

I'm only doing this review because I see so many people saying that lights drain their batteries. No folks, you need to hook it up to a switched power supply like any other brake controller. Connecting directly to the battery is stupid and will drain the battery regardless of whether the light is on or not. It's your installation's fault, not the product's. The brake controls work well and I like the look and how compact it is. this is the instantaneous jerk of the trailer brake when the truck brake is applied. I replaced the ECU and it still works. I've found that lowering the sensitivity to 0 stops this. I just increase the braking level to compensate.
