I ordered this for a one year old boy. I thought it would be a nice change from the usual portable toys. That's great for his age/height. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to make it sound. The volume can be adjusted and it turns off automatically. It's made of thick plastic with a "rubber" backing that keeps it in place on carpet and is mostly stable on hardwood floors. Overall, this is a great gift for a young child, but for an older child or adult, you'll likely need a longer/wider keyboard.
