Review on Performance Tools PTL82 Automotive Tool Set, 82 pcs. by Adam Kotowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

I was looking for an inexpensive set of tools for the car, but I needed it with keys so that I could turn it around at home. The budget was very limited, and an expensive set was not needed. I don’t need them to turn every car service. And so do maintenance in the car (candles, pads, and the like), and around the house. I noticed a couple of the same type of sets with keys. All 82 items. Chose between this and Eureka ER-TK4821 and this set. Came to the store to visually compare. I even took a couple of photos. Case This case is smaller than Eureka, the items are rationally arranged. The tools are better fixed in the grooves, which means that the tool will not fall out when carrying the case. But Eureka has metal locks. Ratchets If you shake them, then something staggers inside Eureka, PTL is quiet. The PTL handle is softer and more pleasant to the touch, not so oaky. The PTL ratchet mechanism is larger, which means it is stronger and better transfers forces. Metal Finishing and Thickness PTL has a smooth tool surface and better metal finishing. Thicker than the walls of the heads. The notch is more even. PTL is heavier, there is more metal in the body of the tool. More Heads, extensions in the PTL set are 3-4mm longer than those of Eureka. Bottom line The kits are really similar, but if you look at the details, Performance Tools will be better. Is that in Eureka metal locks. IMHO. You should not expect anything supernatural, but for such money it is quite suitable for a personal car and household needs.

Pros
  • Price / quality, considering the cost Got keys and heads
Cons
  • Locks, though strong, but plastic

Got pros: there are open-end wrenches, the tool is not scrap metal Has some cons: afraid of high loads and frequent use, not for professionals.
