Very simple but works great! Bought 2 of these for the iPad in April 2018. We've spent four times as much money on other iPad gadgets with all sorts of buttons and settings, and none of them worked for long. It's just pure simplicity and functionality in general. I gave one to my brother in law and now my wife and I are fighting over the leftovers so I just ordered 2 more, one for me and one for a gift. They hold our 12.9 inch iPads well and I have a case that holds the keyboard. I think if you had a case that made the device larger than 1/2 inch I think it might not snap the edge properly. Non-slip rubber pads on the top and bottom of the device keep the device secure on all the surfaces we use. The hinge works great and stays put at any angle we adjust. We leave our iPads on it when we're charging or not using it, and I use it every morning at breakfast to check the news and stuff. I'm an engineer by trade and I just love seeing something so simple but doing the job just as well as this device.
