I ordered both a cabin filter and an engine filter. They were both mailed in padded envelopes. They must have put something heavy down as the factory boxes they came in were a bit dented. One of the filters had the fins bent due to the weight, but I was able to bend them back into place so I could install them in my car. In my opinion they should be shipped in sturdy boxes to avoid this problem.
