USB connector is useless. The light will not turn on if there are no batteries in the case. The description is very confusing when it says it works with USB or battery. It is not true. It also says "Plug in the USB and the light will turn on immediately." Not true. Without batteries there is no closed circuit in the case for the current to flow through the switch to the light. The USB plug can be for rechargeable AA batteries. But the manual also says not to use USB and batteries at the same time, so it's poorly written and very confusing. save money
