Easy to install. Insert batteries and switch on. The instructions are clear, but to be honest there are two buttons to operate, so it's not a complicated device. I turned the unit back on and now "some" carbon monoxide was showing up in the house. My guess is that the sensor didn't completely erase its previous readings. I was literally in the tailpipes. I took out the battery and turned the unit back on and the reading was 0ppm. Extech states in the instructions that this device is for "general purpose" so you really can't rely on it 100%. However, it is a good tool if you have suspicions in places that the installed CO detectors cannot reach.
