Backup lasts forever. Others seem to be reporting times of around 1 hour per GB, but I back up 4.10 GB over 4 days and have only 2.41 GB (with estimated 41 hours left) and no way to use my theme console time. I contacted their support team and the only recommendation they could give me was to cancel the backup, erase it from the flash drive and then try again and hope it works differently. I decided to survive the 2 days left rather than risk repeating the 4 I had already sacrificed. In hindsight, I recommend to everyone that if you don't have something that you absolutely can never replace, just proceed with the installation without backing up your PS4 and then download everything fresh and just play games back to where you were.
