Review on RCA RP3013 Personal CD Player with FM Radio (Discontinued Version) - Music on the Go! by Kirk Womack

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good sound quality - no speakers - very annoying to find switches

sounded good. The problem is that there are many switches outside. They can't be seen in the photo from the front, but the outer rim is black plastic with a black power button, radio/CD button, volume control, etc - they're not in a specific area of the circle - they are randomly placed. around and they are very small with very small black lettering/icons. They are almost invisible. So if you turn this thing sideways, and then the other side, then back, then you accidentally move the volume knob and blow your ears, then you accidentally press one of the front buttons, because you have to rotate this thing 360 degrees . degrees to figure out what you see - well, that's annoying. It's just disorganized and scattered haphazardly around a solid black border. Also, I'm not exactly in the "New Tech" era, and if I haven't used it for a while I almost had to read the manual to figure out what the EQ, Mode, and Prog buttons are supposed to do. What happened to play, stop, pause, and a simple forward or back arrow? But the sound is good, the earbuds are comfortable and clear. I don't think you can wear it on your belt and there's no way to listen without headphones.

Pros
  • headphone jack
Cons
  • purchase doubts for the elderly
